← ResourcesWhat Do You Need for a Mobile Detailing Appointment?
4 min read · Updated 2026-08-11
For a mobile detail you need three things: a parking spot with room to walk around the vehicle, access to a standard outdoor water spigot, and a normal 120V electrical outlet. Everything else — equipment, chemicals, hoses, extension cords, towels, extraction and pressure washing gear — comes with us.
If water or power is not available at your location, tell us when booking and we will arrange it in advance.
Space required
Roughly a parking space and a half. A standard two-car driveway, an apartment lot stall with a free space beside it, or an office parking spot all work fine.
Water and power
Access to a working water spigot and electrical outlet is required unless arranged with us beforehand. In apartments and condos, a hose bib in the parking area or garage is usually enough — many clients coordinate with their building manager.
Ceramic coating is different
Ceramic coating needs a covered garage for application and cure, so it cannot be done in an open driveway during rain or freezing weather. Everything else — exterior, interior, full and maintenance details — happens wherever you park.

Common questions
Do mobile detailers bring their own water?
We carry equipment and supplies, and we ask for access to a working spigot and outlet at your location unless another arrangement is made in advance when you book.
Can you detail my car at my apartment?
Yes, as long as we have a parking stall with room to work and access to water and power in the lot or garage. Building approval helps avoid issues.
Do you charge a travel fee?
No travel fee anywhere in the Des Moines metro service area.
