Matte and satin finishes don't behave like gloss paint. Wax, gloss sealants and polishing all wreck them. They get matte-safe chemistry, no fillers, no abrasives, and drying that doesn't burnish the surface.

What never touches a matte car.
- Wax, glaze or any gloss-enhancing sealant
- Polishing or compounding of any kind
- Automatic car washes and their brushes
- Gloss tire dressing slung onto the lower panels
- Aggressive pressure or heat near wrap edges

How it runs.

Identify the finish
Factory matte paint, satin paint and vinyl wrap all behave differently. Jake confirms which one he's working on before choosing a single product.
- 02
Matte-safe wash
No wax, no gloss enhancers, no fillers. Dedicated matte shampoo and clean media, with extra care around wrap seams and edges.
- 03
Targeted removal
Bug residue, bird mess and fuel splash get removed with matte-safe chemistry before they etch, since these finishes can't be polished afterwards.
- 04
Dry without burnishing
Drying is the highest-risk step on matte. Filtered air first, minimal towel contact, no pressure — burnishing is what creates permanent shiny patches.
